Hojkov

Hojkov ( German Hojkau, also Hoykau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers west of the center of Jihlava and belongs to Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Hojkov is on the left above the valley of the brook Hojkovský creek in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands at the northern edge of the Park PP Čeřínek. To the north lies the pond Sviták. To the north of the Kopec collected ( 696 m), to the east the Brezina ( 743 m ) southeast of the Čeřínek ( Czesinek, 761 m), in the south of Škalec (707 m), south-west the Mešnice ( Meschnitz, 753 m) and in the northwest the Ve vršku ( 696 m). To the northeast, there is a quarry.

Neighbor sites are Na Rovném, Robotsko and Váchovna in the north, Hatlíkov, Melouniště, Dušejov, Boršov and U Křížku in the northeast, Na Bahnech and Větrov in the east, Nový Hojkov and Hutě the southeast, Dolni Hutě in the south, Měšnice and Honzův Mlýn in the southwest, Nový Rychnov and V Lomech in the west and Milíčov and Na oklice in the northwest.

History

Hojkov was the end of the 13th century during the colonization of the Czech border areas with Moravia in the diocese of Prague associated Gau Řečice. Named the place is named after a Hojek. The first written mention of the village was carried out in the year 1379th At that time consisted of Rundling from 17 property and added a two Heger houses in episcopal woods. During the Hussite Wars spiritual authority Řečice got to secular lords. From 1496 to 1597 the village belonged to the lords of Leskovec. This built in the mid 16th century in Rychnov a Renaissance castle. Since the mid-16th century, two mills are proven. After the Battle of White Mountain, the goods of Jan Říčany were confiscated and Rychnov including the associated villages came back in 1623 to the Prague bishopric. In 1829 Hojkov consisted of 42 houses. At the beginning of the 19th century, the settlements Hatlíkov and Nový Hojkov had arisen later Větrov and the monolayer Padrť and Urbanka were added.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hojkov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Pelhřimov. At the periphery of the village in 1904 was a school. In 1949 the municipality Hojkov was assigned to the Okres Jihlava - okolí and since 1961 it belongs to the Okres Jihlava.
