Horní Kněžeklady

Horni Kněžeklady ( German Upper Kniescheklad ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-east of Tyn nad Vltavou in South Bohemia České Budějovice and belongs to the.

Geography

Horni Kněžeklady located to the right of the Vltava River on a hill in the Lischauer threshold. To the south lie at the dam Hněvkovice the waste places Buzkov, Jaroslavice and Pardo Vice.

Neighboring towns are Kozlovák, Branovice and Dobsice in the north, Bečice and Dolni Kněžeklady in the northeast, Sobětice, Dubové Mlýny and Stipoklasy in the east, Cerveny Dvůr, Modra Hurka and Pořežánky the southeast, Pořežany and Hroznějovice in the south, Litoradlice the southwest, Hněvkovice na pravém Brehu Vltavy and Zverkovice in the west and U Bulku, Čihovice, Břehy, Třitim and Předčice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Knyezie clada took place in 1318, when Henry of Zimutice the village over -wrote with his wife Anka Zimutice. The place name is of Profous for a ( Kněz / Priest ) interpreted as a former possession of the archbishopric of Prague and to the other ( Kláda / trunk ) as indicating a striking tree. Since 1396 Kniezekladie superiori ( Horni Kněžeklady ) and Kniezekladie distinction is inferiori ( Dolni Kněžeklady ) between the two villages. Horni Kněžeklady remained below always associated with Zimutice. In 1661 bought Johann Adolf I of Schwarzenberg dominion Zimutice and joined them to the rule of Trebon. After he had acquired in 1672 and the reign Bzi, he united both goods. In 1840 Upper Knjžeklad / Hornj Knjížeklada or Hořegsska consisted of 9 houses with 67 inhabitants. Vicarage was Schimutitz. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always connected to the dominion Wittingau Good BZY remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Horni Knížeklady / Upper Knescheklada formed in 1850 a part of the community Stipoklasy in the district administration and the Tyn nad Vltavou the jurisdiction / Moldova Thein. 1910 lived in Horni Knížeklady / Upper Knižeklad 147 Czech -speaking inhabitants. Today's local name Horni Kněžeklady is used since 1924. By order of the occupying power, a volunteer fire department was formed in 1943 in the municipality Stipoklasy / Stipoklas, which had 50 members. The first fire engine, however, was not delivered until after the war ended in 1946. In 1950 in Horni Kněžeklady the construction of a house with an attached syringe cultural center. After the abolition of Okres Tyn nad Vltavou, the place was in 1961 assigned to the České Budějovice. From 1 January 1976 formed Horni Kněžeklady one of 17 districts of the greater community Zimutice. After a referendum, Horni Kněžeklady solved together with Dolni Kněžeklady and Stipoklasy going on 24 November 1990 by Zimutice and formed the first time a separate municipality ..
