Horní Těšice

Horni Těšice ( German Upper Tieschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located about four kilometers northeast of Kelč and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

Horni Těšice is on the left across the valley of the brook Nihlovský creek in the Kelečská pahorkatina ( Keltscher hill country). North-east rises the Stražisko (335 m) and in the southeast the Strážné ( 399 m). To the north stretches the forest area Nihlovský les.

Neighboring towns are Černotín in the north, Skalička in the northeast, Dolni Těšice in the east, Komárovice and Kelč the southeast, Lhota, Babice and Rouské in the south, Všechovice the southwest, Malhotice, Váňův Mlýn and Opatovice in the west and Nové Sady and Ústí in the northwest.

History

After the Olomouc Bishop Heinrich Zdik large parts of Duke Otto II of Eastern Moravia, including the Gau Kelč, had acquired, he let colonize these areas by Bohemian settlers. In 1131 the newly created villages Cesici and Čechovice were first mentioned. Bishop Theodoric of Neuhaus belehnte 1302 Knights of Ondřej Čechovice with the waste already lying again for some time Češice village. In 1371 the city was designated as Tyeschicz. It is unclear whether this Horni or Dolni Těšice is meant. The earliest unambiguous place name was in 1380 as a minus Tyeschicze. 1389 was Parvo Tyesschicze an independent episcopal Lehn. From 1517 the city Malé Těšice and from 1530 Horni Těšice was called. The Episcopal vassals, who were mostly invested with Dolni Těšice were for example members of the gender of Kunštát and Zierotin. During the Thirty Years War, the fief was confiscated and part of the episcopal rule Kelč. As of 1676 the place was called Upper Tieschitz. Until the mid-19th century Horno Těšice remained subservient always Kelč, where it was also gepfarrt. In the vernacular of the village at this time was referred to as Vrchní Těšice or Těšičky.

After the abolition of patrimonial Horni Těšice / Upper Tieschitz formed with the hamlet of Dolni Těšice 1850 a municipality in the district team Holle show. 1855, the community was assigned to the District Moravian white churches. Since 1879 Dolni Těšice formed its own community. After the abolition of Okres Hranice Horni Těšice in 1960 associated with the Okres Přerov. 1964 came the merger of Dolni Těšice to a community Těšice. This was in 1976, first joined the Local National Committee Skalička and incorporated since 1983 entirely by Skalička. Since November 24, 1990 Horni Těšice again forms a separate municipality.

Coat of arms

Horni Těšice leads since October 8, 2001, a coat of arms and banners. The silver cones are the coat of arms of the Bishopric of Olomouc borrowed, the golden crown symbolizes the local patron saint Virgin Mary and the three black bars on the arms of the Lords of Kunštát.
