Horst Müller

Horst Müller ( born April 10, 1952 in Zwickau, † March 1, 2011 in Mittelberg ) was a German luger.

Müller was active for the SC tractor Oberwiesenthal and particularly successful in the 1970s in both the single-seater and a double sledge. In the FIL World Luge Championships 1974 in Koenigssee, he won the bronze medal behind the local hero Josef Fendt and his East German teammate Hans Rinn. In 1975, in Hammarstrand added a silver medal, which he won jointly with Hans -Jürgen Neumann behind the victorious DDR double and Bernd Ulrich Hahn. The same placement reached the double Müller / Neumann at the European Luge Championships 1975 in Olang, where they were beaten by their countrymen Hans Rinn and Norbert Hahn. In the FIL World Luge Championships 1977 in Igls Müller won behind Hans Rinn again a silver medal.

In the GDR championships Müller won 1972 A. Hahn in doubles behind Horst Hörnlein and Reinhard Bredow and Klaus Bonsack and Wolfram Fiedler with its first national bronze medal. In 1974 he was behind Hans Rinn second in the recliner, 1975, he won with Hans -Jürgen Neumann the title in double before Rinn / tap and tap / faucet. In Oberhof the double reached a total time of 1:29,56 minutes. The following year, it won again behind these two doubles bronze, also Müller won behind Rinn and Günther Dettlef the bronze medal in singles.
