I'm Shipping Up to Boston is a song whose text was recorded by folk singer Woody Guthrie and by the Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys. He was released on their album The Warrior 's Code in 2005. The song deals with the story of a sailor who desperately seeks in Boston to a wooden leg. In addition, the song was covered in 2012 by Children of Bodom and is on the compilation " Children Of Bodom - Holiday At Lake Bodom (15 Years Of Wasted Youth ) " represented.

The song still finds use in many different sports, such as hockey, basketball and baseball. Many NHL teams use this song as a sign for an upcoming power play. Among them are the Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings and the New York Rangers. The Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks play the song regularly during the Games. The Philadelphia Flyers and the Chicago Blackhawks use it at the beginning of an overtime period.

The Boston Celtics played the song during their timeouts in the NBA Finals in 2008.
