Infosys Technologies is a global IT company. The company is listed on the financial index BSE Sensex.

Infosys Technologies was founded on 2 July 1981 in Pune. The company is headquartered in Bangalore, is represented in 26 countries worldwide and operates development centers in India, China, Australia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Great Britain, Canada and Japan.

Some Indian centers are: Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Mangalore, Mysore, Mohali and Thiruvananthapuram.

With more than 100,000 employees and revenues exceeding $ 4 billion dollars Infosys Technologies is one of the largest IT companies in India (as of 31 December 2009).

Infosys co-founder Nilekani was personally commissioned by the Indian President Manmohan Singh with the organization of the world's largest digital census of the world, in the years 2010 and 2011 the records were recorded and stored by 1.2 billion Indians (ten fingerprints, iris scan, a total of 2 MB per person). Nilekani built specially to a government start-up companies.
