It remained for the time being his last game for Uni Craiova, since joining in 1990 Gane to local rivals Electro Craiova in the Divizia B (now League II ) to gain match practice. In Electro Putere he had as regulars large proportion of the most successful phase of the association, as well as jumping out of third place in the 1991/92 season after promotion in 1991, the club failed to qualify for participation in the UEFA Cup.

After this success, Gane returned to Uni Craiova, where he in the first team as a striker partner of Gheorghe Craioveanu could also win a regular place itself. After the Cup victory in 1993 he was able to win with the club in the 1993 /94 and 1994/95 respectively behind Steaua Bucharest the runner-up. Here he found indeed another goal threat and has been with the club at the end of the season runner-up behind Rapid Bucharest, but came in only half the games used.

After only one year Gane moved in summer 1999 to Switzerland for FC St. Gallen. This change proved to be a stroke of luck for him. After the club had always struggled in previous years to avoid relegation, he was coach Marcel Koller in the 1999/2000 season champion and surprisingly missed the defense of the title in the following season until the last match. Gane was involved from the beginning as a regular player on these successes. In the following years, St. Gallen could not build on the successes. After the relegation was only secured in the relegation round of the 2002/03 season, Gane moved to the reigning champions Grasshopper Club Zurich. There he was able to achieve 16 goals in the 2003/04 season though, the club closed but from a disappointing seventh place.

Gane returned to Universitatea Craiova to the season, but changed in the autumn of 2004, after China's Tianjin Teda. Even in the winter break of 2004/ 05 he returned to Romania and joined Rapid Bucharest. Here he barely came into play, so he moved to the end of season to VfL Bochum, who played into the 2nd Bundesliga. After just one use, he went into the winter break again to Uni Craiova, but changed in the summer of 2006 to FC Arges Pitesti, where he ended his career at the end of the year.
