Iranian legislative election, 2000

The Iranian parliamentary elections of 2000 were held on 18 February 2000.

Prehistory

Before the election, the minimum age for eligibility to vote of 16 was increased to 17 years. Thus were 38.7 million Iranians eligible to vote. 6,083 candidates were registered to vote, after the run-up to 650 candidates were excluded from the Guardians of the election.
