Italy at the 1924 Winter Olympics

Italy participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1924 in Chamonix with a delegation of 19 athletes in two sports part. The Italian NOK had reported 30 athletes to the games, 19 of which participated in competitions. The members of the military patrol do not count as official Olympic participants.

Balance Sheet: The Italian Olympic team traveled as underdogs and without medal chances to Chamonix. The brothers Enrico and Vincenzo Colli and Giuseppe Ghedina, Benigno and Antonio Ferrera Herin attended with places between 9 and 13 that the Italians indeed were among the best nichtskandinavischen skiers in Chamonix, their performance remained largely unnoticed by the audience. The sixth place of the bob of pilot Lodovico Obexer was more of a coincidence, especially since only six Bob finished the runs.
