Ivan Bohdan

Ivan Bogdan Gawrilowitsch, Russian Иван Гаврилович Богдан, (* February 29, 1928 in Dmitrowo - Belowka in the Mykolaiv Oblast ), a former Soviet wrestler.

Sports career

Ivan Bogdan began as a teenager near Moscow with the rings. At the beginning of the 1950s, he was drafted into the Soviet Army and delegated to the sports club of the army in Leningrad. There he was, inter alia, with the Altinternationalen Konstantin Koberidse an excellent coach who approach soon led him to the Soviet top class of heavyweight wrestler.

Bogdan wrestled exclusively in Greco-Roman wrestling and only weighed about 100 kg, which was relatively easy for a heavyweight. The World Championships in 1957 and 1959 were held only in free style.
