Ivan Gotti

Ivan Gotti ( born March 28, 1969 in San Pellegrino Terme, Lombardy ) is an Italian former racing cyclist.

Career

His greatest successes were in 1997 and 1999 winning the overall title of the Giro d' Italia. In 1999, he won because the day before the final in Milan the previous the pink jersey, Marco Pantani had been excluded due to high hematocrit value. Gotti won the 2001 also a stage of the Tour of Catalonia. In 2002, he finished his career.

For possession of doping products Ivan Gotti was sentenced in 2001 to five months in prison on probation.
