Giovanni Battaglin

Giovanni Battaglin ( born July 22, 1951 in Marostica ) is an Italian former racing cyclist.

Throughout his career he has developed from a stage hunters at smaller and larger tours for good climber, who crowned his career in 1981 by winning the Giro and the Vuelta. The Tour de France, he had often prematurely. However, he won in 1979 both the mountains classification and the 6th place in the standings with this tour. His career lasted from 1973 until 1984.

Late in his career founded the Fahrradmanufaktur Battaglin Cicli.

Also born in Marostica is the cyclist Enrico Battaglin, who is not related to Giovanni Battaglin.
