Melcior Mauri

Melchor Mauri Prat (also Melcior Mauri, born April 8, 1966 in Vic, Spain ) is a former Spanish cyclist.


His professional career with 58 wins lasted from 1987 to 2002. His greatest success was in 1991 winning the overall classification of the Vuelta, where he also celebrated three stage wins. Melchor Mauri was a very good time trialist, but had recurrent weakness in the difficult mountain stages of the Grand Tours. However, he won several small tours in Spain. In his special discipline he was, among other Spanish National Champion and Vice World Champion 1998 in Valkenburg, the Netherlands.

Mauri is now a successful entrepreneur. His company Bike Control M.Mauri specializes in indoor cycling.
