Izitso is the tenth studio album by singer -songwriter Cat Stevens.

History

. The twelfth album ( including live and compilation albums ) by Cat Stevens appeared in May 1977 after the poor sales of the previous album Numbers (A Pythagorean Theory Tale ) should the current album Izitso much commercial and successful (USA: 7th place; GB: Place 18, Germany: be 8th place).

Stevens parted again, as with Foreigner, his musical companions Alun Davies and drummer Gerry Conway for the first time of his; still he produced the album with Dave Kershenbaum in a modern for the mid-1970s sound. Total common synthesizer, rhythm and instruments were used to the disadvantage of acoustic instruments.

Also unusual was the publication of two instrumental pieces Kypros and What Dog a Doughnut? and a foreign composition Child for a Day, in which his brother David Gordon was co-author. The autobiographical title (I Never Wanted ) to Be a Star shows (according to the companion book to On the Road to Find Out ( Box Set ) ) Cat Stevens dissatisfaction with the state of the entertainment industry and his stardom, which he after the release of Back to Earth put a temporary end. As singles were released ( Remember the Days of the) Old School Yard, Child for a Day, What a Dog Doughnut? and (I Never Wanted ) to Be a Star. The album was re-released in 2001 in a remastered by Ted Jensen Version.
