New Masters is the second studio album by singer -songwriter Cat Stevens and was published in 1967.

History

The second album by Cat Stevens (now Yusuf ) was published in December 1967, nine months after his debut album, Matthew & Son The album is the only one that could not place on the charts and was thus a commercial failure.

The most popular tracks on the album The First Cut Is the Deepest was through the interpretation of PP Arnold became a hit, while the single release Kitty in the UK was ranked only 47 in the charts.

The recording of the album took place in October 1967 ( Decca Studios, London ); again with Mike Hurst as producers, the Cat Stevens was also to blame for the poor sales, as he looked at the album because of the caused by Hurst orchestrations as overproduced.
