Jan Snopek

January Snopek ( born June 21, 1976 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey player who stands in January 2013 in Milano Rossoblu in the Italian Serie A1 under contract.

Career

January Snopek began his career as a hockey player with the Oshawa Generals, which until 1997 he was active from 1993 in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League. In the 1996/97 season he won with his team the J. Ross Robertson Cup, the championship of the OHL. The following Memorial Cup he was voted into the All -Star team. During his junior time the defender in the NHL Entry Draft in 1995 was selected in the fifth round as the 109th overall player of the Edmonton Oilers, for whom he never played, however. Instead, he started the season 1997/98 at the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League, for which he, however, only two games played before he spent the entire rest of the game time at the VIK Västerås HK in the Swedish Elitserien. He then returned to his Czech homeland, where he was two years for the HC Karlovy Vary, HC Slavia Praha and HC Orli Znojemští in the Extraliga on the ice.

For the season 2004 /05 Snopek was obliged by HC Pardubice, with whom he won the Czech championship title at first attempt. For this success he contributed with 29 points scorer, of which seven goals in 66 games. From 2007 to 2009, the right-handed shooter was even captain in Pardubice. However, he left the club and played in the following one and a half years for HC České Budějovice, before he finished the season 2010/11 Kärpät Oulu in the Finnish SM- liiga. There he spent the entire following season. In January 2013, the exchange to Italy, where he wrote from the Serie A1 in Milano Rossoblu followed.

Internationally

For Snopek Czech Republic took part in the Euro Hockey Tour in 2004. In three games, he stuck to it point by point and with impunity.
