Jaroslav Kristek

Jaroslav Kristek ( born March 16, 1980 in Gottwaldov, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey player who was most recently at the HC Lev Poprad under contract and was loaned to HC Kosice from January 2012.

Career

Jaroslav Kristek began his career with HC Zlín, for whom he played between 1995 and 1998 in the Czech Junior Extraliga. NHL Entry Draft 1998, he was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the second round to 50th place. Then he moved to North America and completed two seasons in the Western Hockey League for the Tri -City Americans, in which he scored 137 points scorer in 115 WHL games. Due to this performance, he managed before the 2000/01 season in the AHL squad of Rochester Americans who were the farm team of the Sabres at this time. In addition to 125 inserts in the AHL, where he scored 23 goals, he brought it to six NHL games for Buffalo. 2003, he returned Kristek back to his home and played for HC České Budějovice, before he moved back to his hometown for HC Zlín Hamé a year later. With this team he was in season 2004/ 05 Czech runner-up. After 26 match days in the 2006 /07 Kristek then moved to Karlovy Vary and was there again in 2008 Czech runner-up. A year later he won the Czech championship with Karlovy Vary.

In January 2010, he returned in exchange for David Nosek for HC Zlín, before moving to HC Košice in September of the same year. With his new club, he was Slovakian champion in April 2011. After this success, he moved within Slovakia to the KHL rookie HC Lev Poprad. After this in January 2012 had no chance of reaching the play-offs, Kristek was loaned to HC Kosice.

Internationally

His first international title fights experienced Kristek 1998, when he took part in the U18 European Junior Championships. Two years later, at the U20 World Championships, he won the Czech U20 selection the world title the U20 juniors.
