Jeff Kottkamp

Jeffrey " Jeff" Kottkamp ( born November 12, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is an American politician. Between 2007 and 2011 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Florida.

Career

Since 1977, Jeff Kottkamp is a resident of Florida. In 1979, he graduated from North Fort Myers High School; then he was at Edison Community College in Fort Myers. Subsequently, he studied until 1984 political science at Florida State University. After studying law at the University of Florida and his 1987 was admitted as a lawyer, he began to work in this profession. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. Between 2000 and 2006 he sat in the House of Representatives from Florida. There he was, among other times, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee.

Kottkamp was elected in 2006 on the side of Charlie Crist for vice governor of Florida. This post he held between 2007 and 2011. Yet he was assistant to the governor. In addition, he was also CEO of National Authority Space Florida and director of the Youth and Adoption Authority in the State. In 2008 he had represented the diseased governor for some time.

After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor Jeffrey Kottkamp resumed practicing as a lawyer. In 2010, he ran unsuccessfully for the office of Attorney General of his state. With his wife, Cyndie, he has a son.
