Jens Böhrnsen

Böhrnsen ( born June 12, 1949 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( SPD). Since 2005 he has been President of the Senate and Mayor of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen Senator for Church Affairs. From 2005 to 2007 he was also a Senator for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, since 2007 he has senator for culture.

Life

Mayor of Bremen

On 8 November 2005 Böhrnsen was elected by 62 votes to the president of the Senate and Mayor of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.

Böhrnsen is a member of the SPD since 1967. He is a member of Verdi, the Workers' Welfare and the German -Israeli Society. He is also a member of the Evangelical Church in Bremen in Bremen.

Private

Böhrnsen is the father of two sons from his first marriage. His second wife Luise morning Thal died on 7 March 2007 at the age of 58 years surprising about the consequences of a cerebral hemorrhage. Since December 2011 Böhrnsen is married to the head teacher Birgit setup.
