Jesse Bélanger
Jesse Bélanger ( born June 15, 1969 in Saint -Georges, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the CRS Express de Saint -Georges from the Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey since 2009.
Career
Bélanger began his career in 1987 in the Canadian Junior Football League Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Bisons de Granby. Already in his second season he was with 103 points scorer in 67 games topscorer of the team. After another season in Granby in which he was able to increase again in 1990, he signed a contract with the Montreal Canadiens of the NHL, the him but initially only in their former farm team, the Fredericton Canadiens, exert. After the trained striker was also there to the point best players in the team, he got in the season 1991/92 for the first time the chance to prove himself in the NHL. Overall, however, he completed only four games for the Montreal Canadiens.
It was followed by another season with the Canadiens before he signed in the summer of 1993 as a free agent contract with the Florida Panthers then newly founded. Add to sunrise Bélanger became a service provider. Already in his first year with the Panthers, he managed to break into the NHL. The 1.80 m wide and 77 -pound right-handed shooter was able to achieve 50 points scorer in 70 games. After two more quite successful years at the Panthers, he was drawn in the aftermath of the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers.
In 1997 he moved to five games in the Swiss National League A for SC Herisau and then returned to North America. There he first played for various farm teams in the American Hockey League and the International Hockey League. In the seasons 1999/ 00 and 2000/ 01 Bélanger wore the jersey of the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Islanders.
After he ultimately no hope made to a long-term commitment in the NHL, he decided to change Freezers during the 2002/ 03 season in the German Ice Hockey League to Hamburg. There he remained, despite good performance only until the end of the season and then joined the Frankfurt Lions at. In Frankfurt, the then 34 -year-old with 54 points in 50 games was able to convince again. His one-year contract was not renewed and so Bélanger then played two years in the Swiss National League B for EHC Biel.
He then moved into the Canadian Hockey League LNAH to the CRS Express de Saint -Georges. For the 2008/09 season signed a contract with the Jesse Bélanger Poutrelles Delta de Sainte -Marie.
