Ježená

Ježená ( German Jesau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers west of the center of Jihlava and belongs to Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Ježená is located in the valley of the brook Maršovský creek in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. Southeast is the dam Hubenov, in the northwest of the pond Maršovský rybnik (marching Auer pond). To the east rises the U svatého Antonína ( Antoni mountain, 629 m), west of the Boucko ( 661 m) and in the northwest of Zedníkův Kopec (626 m).

Neighboring towns are Jiřín in the north, Hlávkov and Bily Kámen in the northeast, Vyskytná nad Jihlavou and Nový Rounek in the east, Rounek the southeast, Dvorce and Hubenov in the south, Boršov and Zbuzany the southwest, Dušejov and Pánkovsko in the west and Maršov and Zbilidy in the northwest.

History

The town was founded during the colonization of the Czech border areas to Moravia by the monastery Seelau with German settlers. The first written mention of Jesena took place in 1226 along with other places in possession of a document confirming Honorius III. for the monastery. 1359, the village was called Jezena. In 1390 a pond between the villages Zbylyd and Gezena was mentioned, which is likely to be the Maršovský fishpond. The orphaned during the Hussite Wars Seelauer monastic estates handed King Sigismund in 1436, with the consent of the abbot fled to Jihlava for the protection and management of Nicholas Trček lipas. 1458 wrote of George Podiebrad the Trček of Lipa the monastic property in the country to board. The lower courts exercised the judge of German Gießhübel. 1596 sold Wilhelm Trček of Lipa Jesau and the adjoining land to the hedgehog to the city of Jihlava, which summed up the newly acquired possessions in the New Well in Bohemia. During the Thirty Years' War, the village was deserted; 1630, of the 15 property only nine managed. Jesau remained until 1848 owned by the town of Jihlava. After the abolition of patrimonial Jesau / Jezina formed in 1850 a district of the municipality stone village in the district Polná. 1855 was a distillery, which was converted in 1878 to Stärkerei. 1878, the site was assigned to the district Deutschbrod. In Jesau potash was produced until 1880. After 1900 Jesau became independent. 1922 burned down the Stärkerei. 1925 passed in Jesau / Ježená a sawmill and two grinding mills. After the Second World War, the German inhabitants were expelled. In 1949 the parish was assigned to the Okres Jihlava - okolí and since 1961 it belongs to the Okres Jihlava.
