Jickovice

Geography

Jickovice is located in the west of belonging to the Central Bohemian hills Milevská pahorkatina in the valley of the creek Jickovický ( Zahradker Bach). Surrounded by Jickovice is the pond obecný fishpond. Towards the south and west stretches the Orlíkstausee flooded with the Vltava. Southwest of the village flows the Otava into the Vltava. East of Jickovice runs the state road II/121 between Milevsko and Mirotice. North-east rises the U Pomníku (513 m ) in the east of Chlum (552 m), southwest Varta (446 m) and in the northwest of Doubek ( 442 m).

Neighbor sites are Na Pískách, Panský Les, Sádky, Bohuslavina, Kostelec nad Vltavou and Zahrádka in the north, Sobědraž, Slabšice, Požáry, Olšičky, Hrejkovice, Laciny and Chlumek in the northeast, Chlum, Velka and Osek in the east, Pazderna, svatý Jan, Kučeř and Matuška the southeast, Borek, Oslov, Komora and Zvíkovské podhradí in the south, Zvíkov, Na búdách and Varta in the southwest, and Zbonín Koloredov in the west and Ochoz, Nevězice and Na Husárně in the northwest.

Archaeological finds indicate a prehistoric settlement of the municipality, at the western foot of the Chlum is the Viereckschanze Obrovy Hroby.

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1220 as the seat of Vladiken Pribizlaus de Wezckowicz. As a later owner of Jordan in 1336 and 1340 Vieckovice Přibyslav and Pelhřim are handed down from Vieckovice. However, the latter kept only a share of the village, and the other belonged to the monastery Milevsko. The Edelhof was first mentioned in 1365 as curia in Gyeczkowicz. In 1409 the monastery Břevnov acquired the Vladi Kenan part. In 1420 both shares were pledged.

At the end of the Hussite wars on Emperor Sigismund in 1436 the proportion Breunauer for faithful service of Johann Zmrzlík Schweißing on Worlik. The Knights of Zmrzlík Schweißing held Ickowicz to 1517. In 1534 the monastery Břevnov possession regained and later sold it to the Lords of swan mountain on Klingenberg. In 1574, Christoph von Swan Mountain joined the reign Klingenberg with his three years previously acquired rule Worlik and bought Klingenberg in the following year as a hereditary possession. During the uprising of the Estates of 1618 Peter of Swan Mountain was one of the leaders of the insurgents. In 1837, Itzkowitz or Gitzkowitz / Ickowice consisted of 42 houses with 408 inhabitants, including two Israelite families. In the village there was a hunting lodge, a emphyteutisierten Freihofstraße and an inn. Vicarage was Kosteletz. Until the mid-19th century Itzkowitz remained as part of the reign of Klingenberg Fideikommissherrschaft Worlik including the Allodialgütern Zalužan, Zbenitz and Bukowan submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ickovice / Itzkowitz formed in 1850 with the establishment Varta a municipality in the district team Pisek and the jurisdiction Milevsko. As of 1919, the village belonged to Okres Milevsko. Today's local name Jickovice is used since 1924. The district was renamed Varta Strážka 1948. Between 1956 and 1963 by the building of the Orlik dam at which the monolayer U Lavičky was flooded and the river. In the wake of the repeal of the Okres Milevsko Jickovice was re- assigned to the Okres Pisek end of 1960. In 1964 the annexation to Kučeř. On November 24, 1990 Jickovice and Strážka broke again from Kučeř and formed the community Jickovice. Since 1 September 1992 Strážka leads back its old name Varta.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Jickovice Jickovice ( Jitzkowitz ) and Varta ( Warta ) and the monolayer Slabšice, Olšičky and Požáry.

The earlier settlement U Lavičky was flooded.

Attractions

  • Chapel of the Assumption in Jickovice
  • House 3, formerly belonging to the Freihofstraße building is considered to be the oldest in Jickovice. According to Josef Kytka it goes back to the medieval St. Anne's chapel, the remains of which are to be obtained in two vaults. The entrance portal adorned three balls in the shape of human heads. The Prince of Schwarzenberg left the house after buying the Freihofstraße the princely hunters house remodel. 1948 Karel Schwarzenberg was expropriated.
