Jimmie Ericsson

Jimmie Ericsson ( born February 22, 1980 in Skellefteå ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who at Skellefteå AIK in the Swedish Elitserien takes place on the job of forward since 2006. His father Sven Eriksson and his younger brother Jonathan Ericsson is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Ericsson, who comes from a hockey loving family, played in his youth at the time HC Vita Hästen. Then he ran until 1999 for the Sodertalje SK, before returning to his junior club. Meanwhile, in the seniors went in the third-class Division 1-2002 for the team for goals.

Prior to the 2002/03 season, the striker returned to his native town and played for Skellefteå AIK in the subprime HockeyAllsvenskan. Despite a three-time participation in the Kvalserien the team did not succeed, the rise in the Elitserien. Then Ericsson left the club and played in the 2005/06 season for Leksand IF in the Elitserien. After Skellefteå had done in the spring of 2006, at the fourth attempt the ascent to the Swedish Elite League, Ericsson returned. At the end of the season 2010/11, now a captain appointed assistant attacker's biggest success with the team since the Swedish championship in 1978. In the playoffs the north of Sweden won the vice-championship.

Internationally

Ericsson represented his country at the world championships 2010 in Germany, 2011 in Slovakia and 2013 in Sweden and Finland. In 2010 he won the bronze medal with the Swedes before he could win the gold medal in 2013 with the team. At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the silver medal with the Swedish national team.
