Joel Armia

Joel Armia ( born May 31, 1993, Pori ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since 2012 in the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League under contract since 2013 for their farm team, the Rochester Americans, playing in the American Hockey League.

Career

Joel Armia began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Ässät Pori, for the first team, he made his debut in the SM- liiga in the season 2010/11. In his rookie year he scored 20 goals in 53 games and gave eleven templates. In addition, he was the Players out on loan in four games for the Finnish U20 national team in Mestis, the Finnish second division, on the ice and prepared it before three goals. Subsequently, he was first in the KHL Junior Draft in the first round as the 14th overall player Severstal Cherepovets and of finally selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the first round than a total of 16 players from the Buffalo Sabres.

Internationally

For Armia Finland took part in the U18 World Youth Championship and the U20 World Junior Championships at junior level in 2011. In the Under-18 World Cup, he was named one of the three best players of his team.

2012 and 2013, followed by other missions at U20 World Championships, where he became in 2013 the second best scorer of the tournament.
