Joseph " Joey " O'Brien ( born February 17, 1986 in Dublin) is an Irish football player. He plays since summer 2011 for West Ham United.

Career

The Irishman came into the first team of Bolton Wanderers in 2004. After he had made it into the squad, he moved on loan - to collect match practice - to Sheffield Wednesday. From 2004 to 2005 O'Brien came to a total of 15 times for the Owls. He scored two goals here. After his return to Bolton, he made his Premier League debut against Everton in May 2005. His international debut was for the Trotters against locomotive Plovdiv in the first UEFA Cup round. O'Brien has played once for the Irish national football team.

In March 2011, O'Brien was awarded again at Sheffield Wednesday, he received a contract until the end of the season. After this lending his contract at Bolton Wanderers was not renewed.
