John Martin (Australian racing driver)

John Kenneth Martin ( born July 8, 1984 in Gosford ) is an Australian racing driver.

Career

Like most racers began his career in karting Martin, where he was active from 2001 to 2004. He then moved in 2005 into formula racing. Right away he won the Australian Formula Ford Victoria Championships and was runner-up of the Australian Formula Ford New South Wales Championship. He also began to six races of the Australian Formula Ford and finished at the end of the season with two wins tenth overall. In 2006, Martin his attention to the Australian Formula Ford and won with eight wins the championship title in this series. He also appeared as a guest driver in the British Formula Ford and came in a race to the finish first.

2007 Martin moved to the British Formula 3 championship to Alan Docking Racing, for which he had begun already in the British Formula Ford. With a fourth place as best result, he finished 15th overall. After half a season in the A1 Grand Prix, he was started for the Australian team in the winter of 2007/2008, he played for Raikkonen Robertson Racing in 2008 starting his second season in the British Formula 3 Championship. The Australians could at some races score points and finished at the end of the season 13th in the Drivers' Championship. He also won this year's Indy F3 Challenge of the Australian Formula 3

After he had taken part in the A1GP again in winter 2008/2009 and three fourth places had scored as the best results, substitute Martin 2009 Superleague Formula and launched for assisted by Alan Docking Racing team Glasgow Rangers. He finished two races in second place and finished with his team at the end of the season in tenth place in the championship. In addition, he participated in a total of seven races of the 2009 season of the World Series by Renault and was for Comtec Racing starting 22 in the overall standings. In 2010 he contests his second season in the Superleague Formula. After starting the first race weekend for the care of the Alpha Team Team Atlético Madrid, he moved to the managed by Alan Docking Racing team Beijing Guoan. After the first three race weekends is a third place his best result.
