Jon Inge Kjørum

Jon Inge Kjørum (* May 23, 1965 in Hamar ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper.

Career

Kjørum jumped on March 22, 1986 for the first time in the Ski Jumping World Cup and reached on the normal hill in Planica in his first jumping a surprising 13th place. For over a year but this should be his only placing in the top 20. It was only on 21 March 1987, he jumped again on front seats and was in Oslo at Holmenkollen ninth. Shortly before, he had been able to win the Norwegian Championships in Kongsberg on the normal hill.

In the championship in 1988, he could not repeat that success on the normal hill and only came to 3rd place. However, in Vang he won the competition on the large hill. Due to the continued good success he was appointed to the Norwegian squad for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, where she won the team competition, together with Ole Gunnar Fidjestøl, Ole Christian Eidhammer and Erik Johnsen the bronze medal. The 1988/89 season was the most successful season for Kjørum. He was able to win the competition on the large hill at the Norwegian Championships in Steinkjer and stood at January 14, 1989 ski jumping for the first time at the top of the podium in a World Cup. Previously, he had been able to reach the 6th place in the overall standings already at the Four Hills Tournament 1988/89. On January 22, 1989, he was again able to jump on the podium and finished third in Oberhof. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1989 in Lahti, he won the team competition, together with Magne Johansen, Clas Brede Brathen and Ole Gunnar Fidjestøl the silver medal. In the individual competition, he was on the normal hill and came fifth on the large hill on the 15th Place. In the first competition after the World Cup on March 5, 1989 in Oslo he could with second place the last time could jump in his career at a World Cup competition on the podium but so successfully finish the season and came at the end in the overall World Cup standings to the 6th Place.

In the Ski Flying World Championships 1990 in Vikersund he was only twelfth on 25 February 1990. In the following years he was able to achieve any significant success more in the World Cup. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1991 in Val di Fiemme he came in jumping on the normal hill only to a disappointing 40th place for him. Previously, he had become only the 19th and only 4 in the team competition on the large hill. Also at the national championships, he was able to achieve only a third rank in Rognan on the large hill and remained so far behind the expectations.

After he hardly could still qualify for the 2nd round in the World Cup 1991/92 season, he finished after the season on 15 March 1992, his active career Springer.
