Jon Sim

Jonathan " Jon" Sim ( born September 29, 1977 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since January 2012, the polar bear Berlin in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Jon Sim began his career as a hockey player with the Sarnia Sting, for by 1998 he was active from 1994 in the Ontario Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the third round than a total of 70 players from the Dallas Stars. For Dallas, the striker between 1998 and 2003 played a total of four and a half years in the National Hockey League and won with them the 1999 Stanley Cup. In February 2003, the Canadian was transferred to the Nashville Predators for which, however, he only played four games before he was taken by the Los Angeles Kings under contract.

Shortly before the end of the Trade Deadline in March 2004 committed the Pittsburgh Penguins the assailant, who played until end of season for the Penguins. Before the season 2004/ 05 Sim moved to the Phoenix Coyotes. However, as the season turned out due to the lockout, he played for the farm team of the Coyotes from the American Hockey League, the Utah Grizzlies, before he in the course of the season to their league rivals, the Philadelphia Phantoms was released, with whom he subsequently the Calder Cup won.

After one season with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Florida Panthers, and one year with the Atlanta Thrashers, Sim signed in the summer of 2007, a contract with the New York Islanders. In January 2011, Sim was engaged by Fribourg- Gottéron from the National League A to the end of season 2010/11 and completed ten appearances for the club. In August 2011, Sim was taken from HC Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga under contract.

From 18 January 2012, he stood up to the end of the season at the polar bear Berlin in the DEL under contract and won in his first year in Berlin, the German Ice Hockey Championship.
