Julius Albert Krug

Julius Albert Krug ( born November 23, 1907 in Madison, Wisconsin, † March 26, 1970 in Knoxville, Tennessee) was an American business leaders, politicians and Minister of the Interior.

Biography

After completion of the Madison Central High School, he studied between 1925-1929 at the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA ) from. A subsequent post-graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin he finished 1930 with a Master of Arts (MA).

After working for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA ) and as Deputy Chairman of the Authority for War Production ( War Production Board ) from 1943 to 1944 he served 1944-1945 his military service in the U.S. Navy. He was also from 1944 to 1945 Chairman of the War Production Board.

On 18 March 1946 he was appointed by U.S. President Harry S. Truman to the Secretary of the Interior (U.S. Secretary of the Interior ) in his cabinet. This he was a member until December 1, 1949.

Later he worked as a manager in the private sector. After his death, he was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
