July
July is the seventh month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.
He has 31 days and is named after the Roman statesman Julius Caesar, on the reform of the calendar of the year 46 BC back (see Roman calendar, Julian calendar ). Under Emperor Commodus, the name of the month in Aurelius was changed, one of his name, after the death of the Emperor of the month got its old name back.
The old German name is called Heuet or hires or Heumonat because in July the first hay - mowing is introduced. Other ancient names for July are bears or honey month, with the latter, particularly in the form of honey moon, also called the month of the honeymoon after the wedding.
In the Roman calendar, the year began with March, the Iulius was originally the fifth month and had prior to its renaming in 44 BC ( the consul Mark Antony introduced Lex Antonia de mense Quintili " over the month Quintilis " ) the name Quintilis to Latin quintus " the fifth". In the year 153 BC, the beginning of the year, however, was brought forward by two months, so that the relationship between names and count accounted for. During the transfer of previously used Latin dates ( " 7BER " ), this is sometimes overlooked.

The month of July begins with the same day of the week as April and in leap years also as January (January ).
Holidays and summer vacation
July and August are the high season through the long summer holidays the main holiday season and in many resort areas. However, July is free of holidays in all German-speaking countries. Climate
