Justin Braun (ice hockey)

Justin Timothy Brown (born 10 February 1987 in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is on since June 2010, with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League and their farm team, the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League plays the position of defender.

Career

After Brown had graduated from high school, he began during the 2004/05 season his junior career in the United States Hockey League with the Green Bay Gamblers. In his first season he played ten games without it being possible to record a point scorer. For the following season the defender was an integral part of the squad of Gamblers and completed 59 games in which he scored 13 points. In the summer of 2006, Brown decided to study at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to start. There he played in parallel for the Hockey Team of the University, the UMass Minutemen in the Hockey East, one of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division. Overall, the defender remained four years in college and was able to celebrate the appointment to the All- Rookie Team Hockey East in his rookie year. He was then selected in the summer of 2007 in the seventh round at 201 instead of the San Jose Sharks in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007. After the following season his statistical values ​​were almost unchanged on the offensive with the previous season, Brown was nominated for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. However, this won Kevin Porter. In the 2008 /09 season, Brown increased the offensive again. Consequently, he was elected on the end of the season in the Second All-Star Team of the Hockey East. The fourth and final year of college Braun was finally be personally successful. With eight goals, 23 assists and 31 points he set personal records. In addition, he was appointed to the First All -Star Team of the Hockey East and East Second All-American Team and the NCAA named best defensive defender of Hockey East.

Because of its services, the San Jose Sharks submitted to him immediately after the end of the college season a professional contract with a term of two years. This signed the Americans on 25 March 2010, before he gave his debut April 7 for the Worcester Sharks, San Jose's farm team in the American Hockey League.
