Justin Murisier

Justin Murisier ( born January 8, 1992 Martigny ) is a Swiss ski racer. He is a member since 2010, the B-team of Swiss-Ski, and is an all-rounder.

Biography

Murisier, a cousin of the Skirennfahrers William Besse, took from November 2007 to FIS races and national junior race part. His first major success was winning the slalom gold medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in the Polish Szczyrk in February 2009. A month later, he surprised at the Swiss Championships in St. Moritz with third place in the Super- G, where he let -known athletes such as Didier Defago or Carlo Janka behind. At the end of the season followed in Sestriere, the first victory in a FIS race.

After Murisier had been cared for two and a half years in the regional service center Brig by former ski racer Steve Locher, he rose early in the season 2009/10 in the C- squad of Swiss-Ski on. He came in the European Cup and was used in the disciplines of slalom and super -G the best of his year. On January 10, 2010, two days after his 18th birthday, Murisier launched for the first time in a World Cup race: In the slalom in Adelboden, he went with the high start number 74 on the 31st place; he missed the second run and possible World Cup points by only five hundredths of a second. In the Swiss Championships 2010, he won the giant slalom ( coinciding with Ami Oreiller ) and in the super combined.

On 12 December 2010 Murisier drove in the slalom in Val d'Isere on the 8th Place and grabbing himself his first World Cup points. His first podium in the European Cup, he scored 18 January 2011 as the third in the giant slalom in Zuoz. At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Crans -Montana, he won the silver medal in the slalom and combined score ( downhill, giant slalom, slalom ) and the bronze medal in the Super -G.

In September 2011, Murisier seriously injured in the preparations for season 2011/12 and retired at the football games a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee to. Due to the injury, he fell out for the entire 2011/12 season. In August 2012, he suffered during slalom training again a crack of the same cruciate ligament, which is why he had to pause in the 2012/13 season.

After a slow start of the season Murisier drove on January 26, 2014 in the super combination of Kitzbühel with the high start number 62 on the 9th Place.
