Kaden

Kaden is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Westerburg.

Geography

Kaden is located southwest of Westerburg in the valley of Elbbaches.

Neighboring municipalities are Härtlingen, Kölbingen and fire Scheid.

In addition to the eponymous place Kaden same and are " pit Anna " districts.

History

The first mention of the defunct district " Meiningen " was 1295th Elves was first mentioned in 1417. After his affiliation with Nassau is the place came in 1866 with the Kingdom of Prussia.

The district "Grube Anna " originated from a same lignite mine in the Westerwald coal mining area after its closure in 1924.

Until 1936 was the spelling of the place " Caden ".

On 1 January 1975, the name suffix "( Oberwesterwald District)" has been deleted.

The local council in Kaden consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
