Pottum

Pottum is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality since 1972 the then newly Westerburg. Pottum is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

Pottum is located five kilometers northeast of Westerburg am Wiesensee. The municipality also includes the living space Harsch Bacher field.

Neighboring municipalities are Bright -Schellenberg, Hoehn and Stahlhofen am Wiesensee.

History

In 1062 was Pottum, or Patheim Pothump, first mentioned in documents later.
