Geography

Winnenden is located four kilometers east of Westerburg in the Westerwald. The northern area of ​​the district municipality encompasses the southern part of the 80 acres of meadow lake.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the year 879, when Count Gebhard in Lahngau gave the Severusstift in Gemünden lands.
