Weltersburg
Weltersburg is a municipality in the Westerwald district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality since 1972 the then newly Westerburg.

Geographical location
Weltersburg located 4 km south-east of Westerburg on the slope of Küppel (436 m), which is today known as Castle Hill. The former guard castle is now expired by a few ruins.
History
In the 11th century a castle was founded to secure the northwest trending Cologne - Frankfurt - road on a 435 m high basalt knoll.
1220 Wigand of Weltersburg ( Weltirsberch ) as a witness in a charter of Henry of Isenburg was mentioned.
