The Kaohsiung Airport is an international airport in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He is after the Taipei Taoyuan airport Taiwan's second largest airport. From it 15% of all international air passengers Taiwan are handled annually.

History
The airport was built in 1945 during the Japanese colonial period from the army. 1965 took over the Civil Aeronautics Administration Airport. Thus started the first domestic flights.
During the 70s and 80s the international goals took significantly. There were only served Hong Kong and Tokyo. Beginning of the 90s that has been connected to Taipei. This offered the Southern Taiwanese comfort and service since from Taipei more international destinations are offered. The biggest / most important destinations served from Kaohsiung to destinations are Bangkok, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo and Xiamen. In the cargo area only China Airlines Cargo flies to Hong Kong, Manila and Taipei.
