Karolyn Kirby

Karolyn Kirby ( * June 30, 1961 in Brookline ( Massachusetts)) is a former American beach volleyball player.

Career

Kirby won 1992/93 with Nancy Reno Open tournaments in Almería and Rio de Janeiro and was also FIVB Tour Champion. In 1993 they formed a new duo with Elizabeth Masakayan. Masakayan / Kirby won in addition to various WPVA competitions, two FIVB tournaments and were FIVB tour champions. In addition, they won the gold medal at the Goodwill Games in 1994 in Saint Petersburg. In the coming years, Kirby played with changing partners. On the side of Reno, she won the tournament in Carolina ( Puerto Rico). At the first World Cup in Los Angeles Kirby / Reno occupied by a semi-final defeat against their compatriots Lisa Arce and Holly McPeak third. 1998 Kirby played again with Masakayan and managed several top- ten finishes. The following year she was unable to build on the successes in various pairings. The 1999 World Cup in Marseille ended for Kirby with Patty Dodd on Rank 25

2004 Karolyn Kirby was included in the "Volleyball Hall of Fame".
