Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic

The Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic ( Kazakh SSR ) was after the Russian SFSR, the second largest in terms of area Union Republic of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Prehistory

Kyrgyz ASSR

From 1920 onwards, autonomous regions were created in Soviet Russia according to the Stalinist nationality policy. Thus, the entire inhabited by Kazakhs northern half of Turkestan was separated from the Turkestan ASSR on August 26, 1920 within the RSFSR and in addition to this with the Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic ( ASSR ). The name was due to the fact that in the Russian tradition, the Kazakhs were called Kyrgyz, although these call themselves Qasaq, which in turn, Russian Cossack sounded too similar and was confused in other languages. The actual Kyrgyz were in Russian Kara- Kirghiz ("black Kirghiz " ) refers, in contrast to the actual Kazakhs ( " Kyrgyz "), which were regarded as descendants of the White Horde.

Kasakische ASSR

Nevertheless, 1925 was based on the self- designation of ethnicity in the Russian renamed Kasakische ASSR ( Казакская АССР ). The name Kyrgyz ASSR was formed in 1924, however in 1926 the Autonomous Oblast Karakirgische transfer (part of the Turkestan ASSR ), which became the Kyrgyz SSR later ( today Republic of Kyrgyzstan ).

Area development

By 1925, Orenburg was Kasakstans first capital, the city was un ceded the Surrounding territory of the RSFSR (now about the Orenburg Oblast of Russia).

From 1925 to 1929 Kzyl -Orda was instead capital. 1929 received the Kasakische ASSR of the dissolved Turkestan ASSR, the area of Alma- Ata, which became the new capital. 1932 lost Kasakische ASSR turn Karakalpakstan and the Kyzyl Kum region ( at Navoi ), which was first spun off as its own ASSR and in 1936 transferred from the RSFSR to the Uzbek SSR.

Existence period

Just as Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and Kazakstan in 1936 but spun off (in the new notation Kazakhstan ) from the RSFSR and separate union republic.

The Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic was established on 6 December 1936., The dominant political party was the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. 1990 Kazakhstan declared its sovereignty within the USSR. As part of a new union contract, the Kazakh Republic Chief Nazarbayev Gorbachev had been baited with the post of Soviet vice-president, but after the August coup in 1991 Kazakhstan finally declared its independence and the withdrawal from the USSR.
