Life and career

2010: First experience at Future tournaments

Kenny de Schepper began at the age of seven years, to play tennis. At age 13, he trained in the National Tennis Centre in Poitiers, but then had to pause for two years due to injury. Therefore, he never played on the junior tour, and in September 2007 he gained his first world ranking points at a Futures tournament. It took three more years before he first was in October 2010 in a futures - finals, which he entered in the Top 500.

2011-2012: Grand Slam debut and first Challenger title

After he won in January 2011, his first Futures title, it will de Schepper was in February 2011 for the first time in Quimper qualify for a Challenger tournament and reached there at once the final, which he almost lost in three sets against David Guez. In June 2011 he managed at Wimbledon for the first time qualifying for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament. In the first round he was already leading 2-0 against Olivier Rochus sets, but still lost the match in five sets. Two weeks later reached de Schepper in Pozoblanco for the second time a Challenger final, while he defeated, among others, the top 50 player Adrian Mannarino. In the final, he sat down in three sets against Ivan Navarro through and thus won his first title in this category. The next Challenger tournament in Recanati de Schepper could advance to the finals again, but lost in three sets this time almost his compatriot Fabrice Martin. Through its successes, de Schepper had improved within a year of 680 to rank at No. 132 in the world rankings. As the year progressed, however, he was able to win only one singles match, but he lost among other things, in the first round of the ATP tournament in Metz, for which he received a wild card, in three sets against Igor Kunizyn. Things went better, however, in the doubles where he reached two Challenger finals along with Edouard Roger -Vasselin and also stood on the side of Arnaud Clément in the semifinals of Metz.

Kenny de Schepper got in early 2012 for the Australian Open a wildcard, however different smooth already in the first round in three sets against Sam Querrey from. In March, he reached two consecutive Futures finals, of which he won one. On the Challenger tour, however, he still never got beyond the quarter -finals. In June 2012, de Schepper could qualify 's Club at the ATP tournament in London's Queen lawn, but it was followed by a first round defeat against Denis Istomin again. Also in Wimbledon him like last year after qualifying, and against Matthias Bachinger he was then able to win his first Grand Slam match. His next opponent is now at position 7 set David Ferrer.
