Kerns

Kerns is a municipality in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland. It is near the main town Sarnen and consists of the local village, Dietried, Holding, MELCHTAL, Siebeneich St.Niklausen and Wisserlen. At the core courses during summer and winter Melchsee -Frutt heard.

Geography

Economy

Originally dominated by agriculture with cattle and horses. Between the 15th and 18th centuries, the extraction of iron, lime and plaster began. In the 19th century, the homework was added.
