Kevin Shirley

Kevin Shirley ( born June 29, 1960 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a producer and sound engineer who has worked with, among others, and for Journey, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa and Mr. Big.

Career

Shirley began his career at the age of 19 years at the South African Broadcasting Corporation and then moved to the Spaced Out Sound Studios, where further promoted him to the owner, Tully McCully. Shirley 's first production was an album by Robin Auld, then he worked with other South African artists such as Juluka, Jonathan Butler, Lesley Rae Dowling, Steve Louw and sweatband. He has also performed with his own band "The Council" and took on their records and CDs.

In 1987 he moved to Australia, where he worked with the Australian bands and artists, which included, among other things The Hoodoo Gurus, The Angels, Cold Chisel, Girl Monstar, Tina Arena, The Screaming Jets and the Baby Animals. After the debut album of the band Silverchair, Frogstomp produced, he moved to the United States. In 2008 he produced the debut album Payback Time by Marya Roxx.

Again, he was able to quickly develop a good reputation and accompanied the recordings of bands like Aerosmith ( Nine Lives ), Iron Maiden ( Brave New World, Dance of Death, A Matter of Life and Death, The Final Frontier ), The Black Crowes ( by Your Side ) or Mr. Big ( What If ... ). In 2009, he was the initiator of the project Black Country Communion, the first and second album he produced in each case.
