Kevin Strootman (born 13 February 1990 in Ridderkerk ) is a Dutch football player who is on the 2013 season at AS Roma under contract.
Career
Strootman already played as F -teenager with Sparta Rotterdam and went through all the youth teams of the club. His first league game for the Spartans made the midfielder on 15 February 2008, two days after his 18th birthday, in the Eredivisie; the team lost 2:6 at AFC Ajax in Amsterdam, Strootman came on in the second half. Already in the following season was one of the young talent to the root formation of Rotterdam, made 25 games in the league and scored two goals. In the season 2009/10 the 19 -year-old was once again one of the best players, but could not prevent the relegation of his team. He then another half a year at Sparta in the Eerste Divisie active, during which several Premier League clubs wanted to commit to those willing from his current contract out to 2012.
Ultimately signed Strootman during the winter break of 2010/11 a contract until 2015 with FC Utrecht. Here he gave an impressive comeback in the 2-1 Eredivisie win at VVV Venlo on January 19, and especially in the 3-0 victory over AFC Ajax four days later, in which he prepared two hits. At the end of the season, however Utrecht was only ninth and missed an international competition. For the 2011/12 season Strootman moved together with his teammate Dries Mertens of PSV Eindhoven.
