Morgan De Sanctis ( March 26, 1977 in Guardiagrele, Province of Chieti ) is an Italian football goalkeeper who is under contract with AS Roma.
Career
In the club
De Sanctis began his professional career in 1994 in his home in Abruzzo Pescara Calcio in Serie B. In 1997 he moved to the Serie A giants Juventus, but remained there only substitute goalkeeper. In two years he came only three bets and then moved to Udinese Calcio. Even he could not initially enforce and stayed for two years mostly on the substitutes' bench. As recently as 2001 De Sanctis became the first-choice goalkeeper.
In summer 2007, he moved to Spanish side Sevilla FC. He had, however, usually behind the goalkeeper Andrés Palop first classified. Seville gave him out for the season 2008/ 09 on the Turkish club Galatasaray, for whom he played a strong season and Turkish Supercup winner was. In June 2009 he signed a three -year contract with Napoli.
For the 2013/14 season joined De Sanctis for a transfer fee of 500,000 euros to AS Roma, where he signed a contract until 30 June 2015.
In the National Team
De Sanctis graduated between 1994 and 2000 15 junior caps for Italy. In 2000, he was with the Italian U- 21 team under coach Marco Tardelli in Slovakia European champions.
Coach Marcello Lippi called him first time in 2005 in the Italian national team, for whom he made his debut as a substitute in the goalless friendly against Iceland on 30 March 2005. For the Soccer World Cup in 2006 but Lippi Marco Amelia nominated as the third goalkeeper in the squad. By Roberto Donadoni, who replaced the resigned after the World Cup title Lippi, De Sanctis was appointed as the third goalkeeper in the national squad for the 2008 European Soccer Championships in Austria and Switzerland. Also in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, he was third-choice goalkeeper, but came as the EM at no use. It was not until over a year later Lippi's successor, Cesare Prandelli caught up with him again in the national squad for the friendly against Spain on 10 August 2011, in which De Sanctis was not used. At Euro 2012, he was part of the Italian squad, but had no use. The last of his six caps graduated from De Sanctis in qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2014 in a 3-1 home win against Denmark. On March 27, 2013, he resigned from the Italian national team, having previously been a day at the match against Malta for the last time in the squad.
