Khalid Khannouchi

Khalid Khannouchi (Arabic خالد خنوشي, Khalid Khan Uschi; born December 22, 1971 in Meknes ) is an American long-distance runner of Moroccan origin. His greatest successes he achieved in the marathon, in which he twice aufstellte world records in 1999 and 2002.

In 1991 he was Moroccan junior champion in cross country and over 3,000 m and 10,000 m.

In 1992 he moved to the United States and in 1993 he won at the Universiade in 5000 -meter run.

In 1995 he learned in a competition Sandra Natal know that was started for the Dominican Republic in the Marathon World Championships in Athletics in 1991 in Tokyo and at the Frankfurt Marathon in 1995 with 2:46:46 the current (as of October 2007) Dominican aufstellte record. In 2007 he was the elimination race of the USA Track & Field Association for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, which was held in Central Park one day before the New York City Marathon, fourth in 2:12:34.

Khannouchi is 1,66 m tall and weighed about 54 kg competition times. He lives with his wife in Ossining (New York).
