Course
The road branches off in Bandiana, an eastern district of Wodonga, the Murray Valley Highway ( B400 ) to the south and follows the west bank of the Kiewa River upstream. In Mount Beauty, on the northern edge of the Alpine National Park, it ends.
Its continuation to the southeast is the Bogong High Plains Road ( C531 ), a small, winding road, the Falls Creek and on to the Omeo Highway ( C543 ) runs south of Glen Valley to the resort.
History
In the 1950s, the Kiewa Valley Highway was paved and its route changed so that it ends in Mount Beauty.
