Trivia

The term Kistenpass was colloquially in use for many quiet side roads in Switzerland. He was referring to so usually hidden paths or detour compounds that have been used by motorized users on the way home after excessive alcohol consumption to avoid a possible police check ( box = sl for noise ). However, these routes were the local police authorities, of course, well known. In addition, the risk of accidents on the most narrow, unlit and poorly marked side roads was greater, so that the use of such a " box passport" in drunken condition often proved to be own goal.
