Klevan

Klewan (Ukrainian and Russian Клевань; Polish Klewan ) is located an urban-type settlement in the Rivne Oblast in Ukraine on the river Stubla ( Стубла ).

The settlement was probably founded in the 12th century, but was only developed in the 15th century, a castle of the Czartoryski family. It was up to the partition of Poland in 1795 in Poland and then came in the government of Volhynia to the Russian Empire. After the First World War she came in 1921 to Poland, in 1939 the settlement was incorporated into the Soviet Union and was classified to a urban-type settlement. After she was then occupied by Germany from 1941 to 1944 came the place after the end of World War II again with the Soviet Union and since 1991 a part of today's Ukraine.
