Geography

Kloschwitz is located at a bend of the hall, northwest of Halle ( Saale) in the nature reserve Lower Saale Valley.

History

1209 was the first documentary mention of the place as Clozmichz.

The town gained national significance due to the Pastor Carl Friedrich Grundmann (1793-1850) founded boys Institute in the first half of the 19th century. The brothers Julius and Gustav of Plauen Turn father Otto Leonhard Heubner taught there.
