Kojšov
Kojšov ( until 1927 slovak also " Kolšov "; Koischdorf German, Hungarian Kojsó ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 729 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Gelnica, a circle of Košice kraj.
Geography
The municipality is located in the valley of the brook Rieka, a tributary in the catchment area of the Hnilec ( German Göllnitz ) in the mountains Volovské Hills ( a part of the Slovak Ore Mountains ). The territory is largely mountainous accordingly: the lowest point is at an altitude of 420 m nm, the highest point is 1246 m nm high peak of the mountain Kojšovská hola ( German Koischdorfer height ) south of the village. The center is located at an altitude of 471 m nm and is 14 kilometers by road from Gelnica and 37 kilometers by road from Košice.
History
Kojšov was first mentioned in 1368 as Koys writing and then 100 years later., As part of the Herrschaftsguts of Spis Castle The location of the place determined the main sources of income: agriculture ( sheep and cattle ), forestry and mining in the 16th century. 1828 are listed 129 houses and 933 inhabitants.
